Social media can be a challenge for data privacy. The
websites we visit tracks our online activity and might collect some
informations about us. Luckily there is a cahange to control that reveal of the
information but do we always know how to do it? Work communities might use
social media and the the administrator might be some who is iterested in social
media but is he/she always familiar with all the privacy policies and settings?
I believe not. That may be a problem for company’s privacy.
Employees should be aware the company’s social media policy
and they should be very careful with company’s passwords and secret
informations if they are maintaining the company’s accounts. Employers have to
be very careful about what they publish so they won’t publish any secret or
harmful information. If an employee you use his own social media he should be
careful what he publish about his work.

Transparency is a cood component of building trust with
other companies and customers. It may help to build the company’s brand. With
openness and transparency the company can tell customers that it is realiable
and does the right thing.
I think it’s useful for emplyees if they share some of their
personal data when seeking a job. That’s a good way to tell employers something
good about you. And the same way employers can tell something about themselves
to their customers and empolyees. Sharing little bit of your private life can
make you easily approachable.
If privacy is not taking care carefully the passwords and
other secret information are on danger. And if an outsider gets an acces to
company’s private data it can be very harmfull. For me working in hospital is
very important that for example any of the patient information won’t leak
outside the hospital.
I googled myself and found almost none of my personal data.
No pictures and no nothing. I think that’s because I don’t have Facebook
account or anything like that. I still found something about me. I have written
some blogposts and articles for my employer and they are public. Still the only
data of me founding by googling is that I am a midwife and I work in Tampere
University Hospital. I think all the information I found of me is correct. It
would be pity to found some fake information of myself. Because all the
information of me is published by my empolyer I think I can’t delete it by
myself. But I think that if I just asked my employer would do that.
